The student union was founded in 1890 – General ArchiveAcademic covered the broad spectrum of activities of the society as a whole. It published posts, up to discussions about the societal impact of statistics ranged from pure research articles.

Meanwhile, all these statistical domains have developed to such an extent, making it difficult, if not impossible, to treat them in a single magazine. The company has therefore decided, to publish two magazines in 2007 from the year, To stay – Advances in Statistical Analysis and To stay – Economic- and Social ArchiveAcademic, which will jointly continue the tradition of the original magazine. While the economic- Statistical and Social archive topics from the Economic- treated and social statistics and those on the social importance of statistics, The Advances in Statistical Analysis dedicated to the theory and methods of statistics.
